I AM SARA RIVEROS
I have been working out for 12 years by now. I love exercising for all the positive effects it has on me. The way sports have changed my life is impressive: it hasn’t changed my physical appearance only, but also my way of thinking.
Since I was a young girl, my mother, my sister and I often worked-out together outdoor or went for trips in the countryside. We always had a great time and enjoyed the fresh air and nature. When I was 15 years old, I began to implement exercising in my daily life and started to transform my body. I immediately fell in love with the way it felt to be physically active and in shape. I read sports magazines and really admired the look of those fitness girls. I just thought: “Wow! That’s exactly the way I want to look, too!”
This was the starting point, I decided to set myself a goal. I begged my dad to buy me a cross trainer, then a bank to train my abdominals and then some weights. Luckily, he recognized my passion and commitment to work out and finally ended up running a little gym at home just for me.
I remember I had a look in the mirror and could imagine exactly how I wanted my appearance to be. Every day I turned up the music and trained very focused to reach my objective – improving myself steadily.
When I was 18 years old I entered a real gym for the first time. From this day on I knew that this will be part of my life. I really liked to train in groups and to visit abdominal or spinning classes. From Monday till Friday I was heavily focused on training, but when the weekend came closer, all I really wanted was to get ready, put my heels on and go out to dance and party with my sister and my friends. But partying and working out excessively do not go along very well. On the weekends I didn’t eat well and neither got sufficient rest to recover completely. This way the work I put in during the week couldn’t pay off 100%.
At this point of time I didn’t have all the knowledge I have today. My diet was rich in carbohydrates and low in protein. This way I wasn’t able to achieve the level of muscular mass I wanted to have. I had no clue how important protein is to make sure our muscles can work correctly.
A couple of years ago I finally decided to dedicate myself to what really mattered. I gave up on partying, started to train with more weight than ever and adopted a diet high in protein according to my needs and goals.
I focused on one goal only: becoming the best version of myself.
Consistency is key to accomplish the results we really desire.
Step by step my aesthetics became more and more advanced and I enjoyed every little bit of progress I could observe. But the most important thing for me was the rise in self-confidence and assurance, because I really knew I could achieve my objective. More than that, I was determined to achieve it. I wanted to prove myself that I can do it. It was more than the change in my physical appearance but a change in my mindset and character, influencing my life in a very positive way.
Every day I trained eagerly and very focused. I also experienced bad days full of discouragement. But then I looked back, realized what I have achieved so far and pushed myself to the next level. I kept fighting for my dream.
To see the results of the effort put in always gives me motivation to step even further and compensates the hours of training spent in the gym.
I’ve always believed in myself and thought if you really want to achieve something, you have to go for it and there will be a possibility to get what you want, no matter what.
The last years showed me I wanted more than just training. I wanted to change my lifestyle until everything – from perfect nutrition to sufficient recovery – matches perfectly.
The best aspect is that these positive impacts of changing habits and my every day routine affected not only me, but also the persons surrounding me.
Currently my motivation is to compete and to be able to shine on a stage. My body constitution is athletic, but curvy. When I heard about the new Bikini Wellness category, I didn’t have the slightest doubt that this is the category in which I want to compete.
I want to share my story in the fitness world with you and be your inspiration to help you becoming the best version of yourself.
